Mantras For The Rest of Us

All we have in our pain is the chance to make beauty from the ashes of it. What else can we do with our suffering?

Much like Rumpelstiltskin making gold from straw (one of the least valuable items) sometimes all we have is the experience of walking through our pain step by grueling step. The process will produce something bitterness, rage, resentment, disillusionment, isolation or beauty from all of it.

The process of walking through pain doesn’t exists in one or the other it exists in all of it. And the beauty comes from letting ourselves feel all that we need to feel without censoring the feelings. This isn't an excuse to destroy those around us but to let those often unspoken feelings out into the fresh air and light. In the secret and dark is where shame likes to establish dominance.

SPEAK THOSE FEELINGS OUT TO SAFE PEOPLE! LET THEM SEE YOUR UNDERBELLY OF PAIN - that's where the beauty is found!

This is inspired by my most recent podcast -Let The Grief Wash Over You
